CBC News noted Bengio’s LawZero received $150 million in federal funding last month and that Pichette leads Digital Transformation Canada, the new agency modernising federal services. BetaKit placed the council against June’s AI for All strategy goals and underlined that Agrawal and Pichette previously sat on the task force that shaped that plan. The PMO says AI for All targets roughly $200 billion in additional economic growth, 250,000 AI-related jobs over five years and a jump in AI adoption from just over 12 per cent to 60 per cent by 2034 — ambitions the new council is meant to stress-test as technology and security risks evolve.
