Apple’s first foldable iPhone is days from its Canadian pre-order window. In a September newsroom release, Apple said customers in more than 70 countries and regions, including Canada, can pre-order iPhone Duo beginning at 5 a.m. Pacific time on Friday, Oct. 16, with availability beginning Friday, Oct. 23.
Apple’s Canadian buy page shows 256 GB configurations in star white and night sky at $2,999, 512 GB at $3,299, 1 TB at $3,899 and 2 TB at $4,799. The page prompts shoppers to choose a configuration now and finish checkout when pre-order opens at 5:00 a.m. PT on Oct. 16. Prices on the Canadian store are shown in Canadian dollars before tax.
Apple describes iPhone Duo as opening to a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR display and closing on a 5.4-inch outer display that it says delivers 90 per cent of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro in a passport-sized package. Both panels share the same aspect ratio so content scales between them. The phone is powered by the A20 Pro chip, uses a dual-battery design with a vapor chamber, and ships with iOS 27.
“iPhone Duo is the most transformational change to iPhone since the original,” Apple CEO John Ternus said in the newsroom post. “With an entirely new design and intuitive experiences, it shows what’s possible when hardware and software are engineered together and redefines what it means to use a foldable phone.” Apple lists two colours — star white and night sky — in polished grade 5 titanium.
Everything Duo’s Canada launch guide, which checked Apple’s published Canadian materials, matches the $2,999 starting price, the Oct. 16 pre-order and Oct. 23 availability dates, and storage options through 2 TB. The guide notes Apple Pencil with USB-C support is planned “later this year” on either display, without a firm Canadian accessory date in the materials it reviewed.
Apple says iPhone Duo activates with eSIM only and does not include a physical SIM tray, a detail repeated on the Canadian store’s frequently asked questions. Carrier activation methods include eSIM Carrier Activation, Quick Transfer from a previous iPhone, a carrier QR code or a carrier app, depending on the provider. International roaming and travel eSIM options depend on the customer’s network plan.
The Canadian pricing and timing put iPhone Duo in the premium foldable tier ahead of the late-October shelf date. Apple has not published separate Canadian trade-in or carrier subsidy tables in the newsroom launch post; shoppers comparing offers will need to check Apple.ca and individual Canadian carriers when pre-orders open on Oct. 16.
