Amazon's Blink has announced five new security cameras — its first 4K model, its first pan-tilt camera and its first battery-powered spotlight camera, alongside two extended-range "XR" systems built for large properties. US preorders opened Oct. 21, with US prices from $49.99 to $199.99 USD, according to Amazon.

The two you can preorder in Canada

Canadians get part of the lineup right away. According to Amazon's announcement, the Blink Mini 4K+ and the Blink Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ are available for preorder in Canada, as they are in the UK, several European countries, Australia and New Zealand.

The Mini 4K+ ($79.99 USD) is Blink's first 4K security camera and the sharpest it has made, Amazon says: 4K video, a 115° horizontal field of view, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and an IP65 rating for indoor or outdoor use, in a wired design. Person and vehicle Smart Alerts require a compatible Blink subscription, and subscribers on eligible AI plans in the US, Canada or the UK also get Video Descriptions — AI-generated written summaries of what a camera recorded.

The Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ ($49.99 USD) is Blink's first pan-tilt-zoom camera, with 350° of pan and 115° of tilt, night vision and two-way audio. Using it outdoors requires the Blink Camera Outdoor Adapter, sold separately, Amazon notes.

Built for the back forty

The headline-grabbers are the extended-range models, which pair with the new Sync Module XR+ hub. The Blink Frontier XR+ ($199.99 USD for a one-camera system with the hub) is a trail camera that Amazon says can reach up to 7,000 feet from the hub with a clear line of sight — aimed at gates, pastures, outbuildings and remote job sites. The Blink Outdoor 2K XR+ ($149.99 USD, also bundled with the hub) records 2K video over a 115° field of view and reaches up to 800 feet with trees or buildings in the way, or 2,700 feet in the clear — though resolution drops to 1080p at the longest ranges, according to Amazon.

Rounding out the five, the Spotlight Cam 2K+ ($109.99 USD) is Blink's first battery-powered spotlight camera: 2K video with a built-in light that switches on with motion, and no wire to run.

The Canadian catch

Here is what Canadian buyers need to know before getting excited. The Frontier XR+, Outdoor 2K XR+ and Spotlight Cam 2K+ are not on sale in Canada yet — Amazon says they "will be available in Canada," with shoppers able to sign up for an email alert, but it gave no Canadian date. And Amazon published no Canadian prices for any of the five cameras, directing customers to their local Amazon site for regional pricing: Canadian pricing has not been confirmed. Amazon's own announcement also lists no ship dates; US listings reported by RR Tech Pulse point to an Oct. 27 release for the two Mini models and Jan. 1, 2027 for the XR+ systems — treat those as US dates until Amazon Canada posts its own.

What matters

What happened

Amazon's Blink announced five new cameras on Oct. 21 — its first 4K camera (Mini 4K+), first pan-tilt (Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+), first battery-powered spotlight (Spotlight Cam 2K+), and two long-range XR+ systems, the Outdoor 2K XR+ and the 7,000-foot Frontier XR+.

Why it matters

Blink is pushing budget home security in two directions at once — sharper video for ordinary homes, and kilometre-scale range for rural and large properties that Wi-Fi cameras couldn't reach before.

What we know

Only the Mini 4K+ and Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ are up for preorder in Canada. US prices run $49.99–$199.99 USD, but Canadian pricing has not been confirmed, and the best features (person/vehicle alerts) need a paid Blink plan.

What we don’t

When the other three cameras reach Canada, what any of the five will cost in Canadian dollars, and the Spotlight Cam 2K+'s release date — Amazon hasn't announced them.

What’s next

Watch Amazon.ca for Canadian listings and prices, and for Amazon to date the XR+ and Spotlight launches here. If the Canadian prices land close to US levels, the Mini 4K+ becomes the cheapest name-brand 4K camera in the country.
