Castrol CORE bundles data-centre cooling into one service offer
The BP lubricant brand shifts from selling fluids to end-to-end thermal management for AI halls.
Published: September 29, 2026 · 1 min read
Castrol on Tuesday launched Castrol CORE, an integrated thermal-management offer for data centres that combines cooling technology, design support, testing and lifecycle services under a single point of contact.
The company said customer research showed operators want fewer vendors as liquid cooling, immersion systems and high-density AI racks grow more complex. CORE’s fluids and systems have been validated with chip and hardware makers including Nvidia and Intel. Castrol cites labs in the U.K., U.S., Germany and China, joint facilities across Asia and service partners in more than 150 countries. In Asia Pacific it has stood up a regional design team and completed a proof-of-concept with a major Chinese operator, with further pilots under way with global hyperscalers.
Peter Huang, global president of data centre and thermal management, framed the pitch as partnership rather than another catalogue product. Canadian cloud and colo builders facing power and heat constraints as AI loads climb will watch whether service-led cooling bundles cut commissioning risk — or simply wrap familiar fluids in a higher-touch contract.
