Apple's HomeView is real: $299, ships Nov. 13 — and Canada gets it on day one
Apple confirmed its first new product category in years at this morning's "Welcome Home" event. Canadian pricing is still missing.

Apple ended months of rumors at 9 a.m. ET Tuesday, confirming the HomeView smart-home hub at its "Welcome Home" event in New York: a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, A18 chip, and Siri AI with face recognition for up to six household members — priced at $299, with pre-orders open today and shipping November 13, according to Apple Newsroom releases.
Two models: a countertop version with a speaker base (silver, starlight, rose pink, space gray) and a wall-mounted flat square (space gray, silver). Apple also announced the HomePod mini 2 ($149, S10 chip, new colors, shipping Oct. 30) and a new Apple TV 4K ($299, A19 chip, hands-free Siri microphones, Find My-enabled remote, shipping Nov. 13). An "Apple Home Collection" of LG and Schneider Electric accessories — doorbell, locks, thermostats, cameras — arrives in December.
The pricing undercuts what leaks had suggested — reports had floated about $350 for the hub — a deliberate shot at Google Nest and Amazon Echo Show. One notable absence: the EU, where Siri AI isn't available on iOS and iPadOS, won't get HomeView at launch.
For Canadians: Canada is in the first-wave pre-order group alongside the US, UK, Australia, India and New Zealand; Siri AI works in English at launch, with Canadian French to follow on HomeView. But Apple published only US-dollar prices — no Canadian pricing has been announced, and no CAD figure should be treated as confirmed until Apple says so.
